Medieval Mayhem at MUSA

The Museum of the University of St Andrews (MUSA) held its annual Medieval Mayhem day on Monday the 2nd of May. The event was designed to introduce children and adults alike to medieval St Andremedieval st andrewsws and the Middle Ages in general. PhD students Kenneth Goudie and Lydia Hayes and MLitt student Thomas Ware participated in the event, answering various questions about life and belief in the Middle Ages.

Children received a medieval passport, guiding them through a museum scavenger hunt, crafts, and a demonstration of medieval weaponry by the Shire of Caer Caledon, the University of St Andrews’ medieval re-enactment society. Museum visitors were also able to see a virtual reality reconstruction of the town, made possible by the Mediaeval St Andrews project.
